The Light of the World (1853–4) is an allegorical painting by William Holman Hunt representing the figure of Jesus preparing to knock on an overgrown and long-unopened door. The scriptural basis for this concept can be found in Revelation 3:19-21:" Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."
Someone asked Hunt if he had made a mistake. " There's no latch on the outside of the door. Jesus couldn't get in if He wanted to."
Hunt simply smiled and said, "That's no mistake. The latch is only on the inside because the person inside has to open it."
Taken from Jack Graham's book "A MAN OF GOD" and website for the painting
Your heart, can only be open by you from the inside...
Even Jesus have to knock...
Our relationship with people reflects our relationship with God.
Both to me...are the same thing.
